• A holder of a DL must report all changes in information compulsorily specified in a DL, within five business days from the date of the change, to the appropriate municipal authority of a municipality with delegated powers, or to the town hall of a city in the Czech Republic.
• He/She should file an application form for a new DL or an IDL, to the appropriate section of a municipal authority of a municipality with delegated powers, or to the town hall of a city in the Czech Republic.
• He/She shall enclose with his/her application form an identification document (citizen identification card, passport), the hitherto valid DL or IDL, and one colour or black-and-white ID document-type photograph, in the format 35x45 mm.
• The processing of the application is, by law, subject to an administrative fee of CZK 10.00,  payable in cash.
• An application of a citizen, due to the inscription of information, whose specification in a DL is not compulsory, or due to another personal reason, is subject to an administrative fee of CZK 50.00, payable in cash.
• The period for processing is usually 15-20 days from the submission of an application form for the issuance of a DL, and until then the existing DL or IDL is valid.
• If the holder of a Driving Entitlement(s) fails to adhere to the obligations prescribed, he/she may be sanctioned pursuant to Act no. 200/1990 Coll., the Offence Act, as amended.
• The legal process for the processing of the request is regulated by:
Act no. 361/2000 Coll., On Road Traffic and on Changing Certain Acts, as amended, and  by Regulation no. 31/2001 Coll., On Driving Licences and the Driver Registry, as amended.
