"The passenger will buy the ticket and can use it with any transportation company. The ticket will not be tied to any specific operator. OneTicket can be use in all trains and for any combination. On top of that, passengers will get a 25% discount or return tickets with a special price. All this can be now tested in the Pilsen and Česká Lípa regions, but from the middle of December the solution will work on all lines," says the transport minister Karel Havlíček.

OneTicket is now valid only on lines Pilsen – Most and Česká Lípa – Rumburk. Passengers can now choose to buy a printed OneTicket at the counters of the operators or directly in the train and/or buy an electronic ticket at oneticket.cz. Or they can download an app for mobile phones with Android and iOS operating systems.

"Since the start of the pilot operation in June 2020, over 6000 passengers have purchased OneTicket and transportation companies received over CZK 300 000 for their service. The aim of the pilot operation is to check the correct functionalities of our ticket sales where we are now adding new features but also tickets in the train and the billing of sales for transportation companies," explains Jan Paroubek, the CEO of the state enterprise CENDIS responsible for project implementation and operation.

Buying OneTicket is extremely easy and intuitive. The passenger chooses the route and day of travel and enters his/her name and last name and makes a digital payment. A user registration option is a big benefit. If registered, the user can see all his/her tickets purchased through the web-based app or mobile phone app. The data between the web store and app are of course synchronised. The passengers does not have to print the ticket, because the ticket is checked in the app in the train.

This single ticket and single tariff system allows the user to buy a single ticket and use it in any train operated by any railway company. The actual travel distance is then billed to the transportation companies. The system will be launched together with the new schedule in the middle of December 2020. The apps are available in Google Play and the AppStore.
