This situation concerns road vehicle imported from another Member State of the European Union on the territory of the Czech Republic and its registration in the Czech Republic.

05. Who is authorized to act in this case (file an application etc.)

Authorized person to act is generally a natural or legal person who will be registered in the vehicle registry as the owner of a road vehicle, respectively, at the joint request - the owner and the person who is listed in the application as the operator of a road vehicle.

06. What are the conditions and procedure for dealing with the living situation

To meet all the required formalities in accordance with § 6 and § 7 of the law no. 56/2001 Coll., on conditions for operating vehicles on roads and amending the law on vehicle insurance, as amended.

07. How can you start solving the living situation

By submitting a written application for a registration of a road vehicle in the registry of motor vehicles to a municipality with extended competence in the place of current residence or place of business.

Contact a municipality with extended competence in whose territorial jurisdiction the operator of a motor vehicle and trailer has a permanent residence or place of business, if different from the residence, or a registered office; in Prague, it is Prague City Hall.

10. What documents are required to have with you

A proof identity in the original (identity card, passport).

The application shall be accompanied by the documents mentioned in § 6 par. 5 of the law no. 56/2001 Coll., on conditions for operating vehicles on roads and amending the law on vehicle insurance, as amended.

11. What forms are required and where are they available

Form - "Application for a registration of a road vehicle in the registry of motor vehicles" is available at the offices of municipalities with extended competence or on the website of the Ministry of Transport.

12. What are the fees and how they can be paid

The administrative fee for entry in the register of road vehicles, in case of a motor vehicle with at least four wheels, is 800 CZK (par. 26 of the law no. 634/2004 Coll., on administrative fees, as amended).
The fee must be paid when filing the application or later, but always before making the registration.
Additional payments - for road vehicles category M1 or N1 which do not fulfill at least EURO 3 emission standard, a fee to support the collection, treatment, recovery and disposal of car wrecks (§ 37e of the law no. 185/2001 Coll., on waste and amending certain other the laws, as amended).

13. What are the deadlines for processing

The request may be procured on the spot; in more complicated cases is proceeded according to the law no. 500/2004 Coll., Administrative Code, as amended, wherein the usual processing time is determined within 30 days.

14. Who are the other participants (concerned) to deal with the living situation

Another participant may be a designee (with the power of attorney to perform the act) or a leasing company.
