04. Basic information about the living situation

A driving license is granted to a person who meets the conditions for an issuance of a driving license when the procedure is completed by issuing a driving license.

05. Who is authorized to act in this case (file an application etc.)

A person who applies for granting (extension) of a driving license.

06. What are the conditions and procedure for dealing with the living situation

Conditions for an issuance of the driving license are set out in § 82 par. 1 and 2 of the law no. 361/2000 Coll., on road traffic and on amendments to certain the laws, as amended (hereinafter the "The law on Road Traffic").
Driving license can only be granted to a person who:

reached the age stipulated according to the law,
   
is physically fit to drive motor vehicles,
 
   
is qualified to drive motor vehicles,
   
has a habitual residence in the territory of the Czech Republic or is studying there for at least six months
 
   
satisfied the other conditions laid down according to the law,
   
is not sentenced to a penalty or disqualification consisting in a prohibition from driving, is not required in the execution of the suspension of a driving license, a person who has not been imposed in criminal proceedings a reasonable limitation consisting in refraining from driving a motor vehicle, or a person who has not reported 12 points in the driver registry,
 
   
does not hold a valid driving license issued by another Member State
   
is not in a probationary period of a suspended petition for punishment or suspended criminal prosecution if the person is committed to refrain from driving during this trial period.
 
A driving license cannot be granted to a person whose driving license in another Member State has been suspended or withdrawn, or the person has been disqualified from the activity consisting in driving disqualifications if the deadline for a reissuance of driving license has expired.

07. How can you start solving the living situation

By filing an application for a driving license which is from January 19, 2013, printed from the driver registry system and therefore requires the personal presence of the applicant.

At the municipal authority of a municipality with extended competence that is relevant to the place of habitual residence of the applicant in the Czech Republic.

With the staff of the competent municipality with extended competence.

10. What documents are required to have with you

An application for issuance of a driving license must be accompanied by requisites set out in § 92. 4 of the Road Traffic Act, which are:
a valid proof your identity
   
a certificate of medical fitness,
 
   
a proof of the professional competence for driving motor vehicles included in the respective categories of vehicles not older than 6 months;
   
a proof of habitual residence of the applicant who hasn’t a permanent residence in the Czech Republic or a proposal for another piece of evidence to prove that or a certificate of study in accordance with § 82 par. 4 of the Road Traffic Act; an evidence of the applicant's habitual residence is in particular:
 
   
a temporary residence certificate by the law no. 326/1999 Coll., on the stay of foreigners in the Czech Republic and amending certain the laws, as amended,
   
a statement from the cadastre confirming the ownership rights to the property,
 
   
a lease agreement for the property,
   
a certificate of employment,
 
   
a statement from the trade register,
   
an affidavit of the applicant that:
 
   
he doesn’t hold a valid driving license issued by another Member State and
   
he was not disqualified by another Member State from the activity consisting in driving disqualifications or that his driving license was not suspended or withdrawn, or that the disqualification period or the time for reissuance of the driving license has already expired,
   
the decision to grant an exemption pursuant to § 83 par. 4 of the Road Traffic Act, if it was granted,
 
   
a proof the fulfillment of other conditions pursuant to § 91 of the Road Traffic Act,
   
one ID photo.

11. What forms are required and where are they available

An application for a license is printed directly from the driver registry - for the event that an applicant arrives and requires solving an issuance of a driving license.

12. What are the fees and how they can be paid

The administrative fee is 50 CZK in cash (for an issuance of a driving license).

13. What are the deadlines for processing

After fulfilling all the conditions, the application will be processed within 20 days of submission.

14. Who are the other participants (concerned) to deal with the living situation

Other participants in the procedure are not determined.

15. What other activities are requested from the applicant

You must accept a driving license in person or by a designee who submits an officially certified power of attorney.

This situation cannot be solved by sending a request by e-mail.
