By the end of this year 204 km of motorways and category I roads will be under construction. Another 172 km are prepared for construction for 2019. Current and next year's most advanced sections are the Brno D1 motorway, the South-Bohemian D3, the Karlovy Vary D6, the Chomutov D7, the Hradec Králové D11 and the Frýdek-Místek bypass on D46 and D56, including the extension to the D48 and the Otrokovice bypass on D55.

By the end of the year 204 km of roads will be under construction, in 2019 another 172 km.

"We brought momentum to the construction of roads and the entire capacity of building companies is now almost exhausted. On Tuesday 4 December we will start with the construction of the D35 motorway in section Časy – Ostrov still and want to start with the D3 in Hodějovice – Třebonín until the end of the year as well, so we will add another 27 km, which means that 204 km of new roads will be under construction by the end of 2018," says the Transport Minister Dan Ťok.

By the end of this year 45.5 km of roads will have been opened, of which 30 km are motorways and 15.5 km are category 1 roads. For 2019 RSD has another 172 km of new motorways and category 1 roads ready for construction and the biggest projects are the D1, D3, D7, D35 plus D46, D48 and D49. Construction of the bypasses of Znojmo, Krnov, Kravaře, Karviná, Nová Paka, Církvice and Olbramovice will start.

"In 2019 an 8km section of the D3 Bošilec – Ševětín and by the end of the year another 14km section between Přerov and Lipník on the D1 shall be open for drivers. When counting category I roads as well, we will get 46 km of new roads," says the RSD CEO Jan Kroupa.

Drivers will encounter most building machines on the D1 motorway between Prague and Brno on up to seven construction sites in 2019, so that the entire D1 has been overhauled by 2021. 90 km of the motorway have been completed and the length of the remaining sections is 70 km. On top of this, intensive work will continue on the motorway by Prague and Brno.
