This public procurement is assigned based on the Cooperation Agreement in project preparation for the planning and construction of a new rail line Dresden – Prague, singed in 2019 by the Správa železnic, státní organizace, DB Netz AG and DB Energie GmbH. DB Netz AG is doing project administration. The tender documentation is published in the public procurements bulletin.

The deliverables involve three areas where the Czech and German project management and assignments of associated public procurements will be combined. The procurement subject is the management and coordination of these activities, all contractors of the different jobs and support of the investor during the preliminary planning phase, involving also the preparation of documents for associated procurements across all project parts.

Potential contractors could make themselves familiar with the German way of public procurements at the beginning of 2020 in Prague at a Meet the Buyer meeting. The meeting was attended by more than 70 potential bidders from many different European countries, which is evidence that the preparation of this project is a matter of a European reach.

The new railway connection between Prague and Dresden will improve the offer of regional passenger transport thanks to significantly shorter travel times, shift a portion of freight traffic from the road to the rail and connect the Czech Republic with the west-European high-speed rail network.
