Minister of Transport Karel Havlíček to the employees at the construction sites of domestic traffic infrastructure: Thank you to everyone who keeps traffic constructions going on even in difficult conditions. We bring the reaction of the Minister of Transport to the current situation in the area of traffic construction in the Czech Republic and a summary of safety measures for constructions.

Thank you for building!
Working on construction sites under current conditions is not a matter of course. Therefore, I would like to thank for myself and for our team at the Ministry of Transport to all those who keep traffic constructions going on even in difficult conditions. I am thinking particularly of employees at construction sites who must manage security measures against the spread of COVID 19 in addition to their normal duties. This protects yourself, your loved ones and those around you. Even though it bothers you, I want to remind you how important it is.

A set of safety measures taken at construction sites can help you get oriented in uneasy situations and work in difficult conditions. In addition to saying thank you for complying with these measures, I want to promise you that we will do our best for your safety. On the roads and in the traffic limitations where you work, we will require drivers to drive carefully and observe the reduced speed limit not to endanger you at work and we will also check it, not only in times of coronavirus infection.

Finally, let me assure you that as the Minister of Industry and Transport, I will do my best to maintain the employment in the construction industry. The development of infrastructure and construction activities must be one of the main tools for restarting our economy.

We can do it together!

Karel Havlíček, Minister of Transport
