“The single ticket is an ideal solution for holiday trips. This year, many people spend their holidays in the Czech Republic. Thanks to OneTicket, they do not have to think about traffic jams, parking and other car related issues. We can see that people are clearly interested in the benefits of OneTicket. Over half a million passengers bought the single ticket with an increased interest during summer holidays. If the trend continues, it is good news especially in relation to the ongoing European Year of Rail”, said the Minister of Transport Karel Havlíček.

In mid-June, the sales went up to 350,000 tickets. During the first month of summer holidays, nearly 160,000 tickets were sold. The average sales in previous months reached only 50,000.

OneTicket is available not only as a one-way option but also as a route ticket for regular commuting or a network ticket for unlimited travelling for certain time period. Passengers can choose, whether they want to purchase the ticket in a paper or electronic form. They can also make a seat reservation for a selected train connection. Around 10,000 seat reservations were sold last month.

While working with the CzechTourism agency, OneTicket promotes interesting places in the Czech Republic, which are easily accessible by train, via the web portal Kudyznudy.cz. Passengers with reduced mobility can also use the system to request assistance service. This year, over 220 people benefited from this service.
The single tariff system, or OneTicket, allows people to travel by train using a single ticket regardless of the carrier. Passengers can easily transfer between trains of different companies.

The Ministry of Transport in cooperation with CENDIS tested the OneTicket system last summer. The full operation launched in December 2020. In June 2021, a new feature was added so that people can make a seat reservation. In July, commercial trains, which are not commissioned neither by the state nor by regions, started joining the system. These connections are operated mainly on lines Prague – Ostrava and Prague – Brno.
