ŘSD launched the national-wide 2020 traffic counting
The nation-wide traffic counting on the motorway and road network takes place every five years. The spring part of data collection usually starts in the middle of April and ends on 30 June. Following an agreement with the contractor – a consortium of companies headed by Centrum dopravního výzkumu v. v. i. Brno, shifted the spring part to the same period of next year to the the COVID-19 pandemic.

At the end of May it was obvious from the data that traffic is slowly getting back to the state before the lockdown, so a decision was made that the summer holiday and autumn part of the 2020 traffic counting would take this year still. The counting started on Sunday, July 12. It will last until the end of October.
