The positive financial results were significantly contributed to by the good condition of international air transport. In 2016, the Czech airspace recorded 836,917 flights, with the increase in total distance flown (190,000,000 km) and weight of the aircrafts (85,000,000 tons).  Another favorable fact was a further major rise in air traffic at the Prague airport (136,619 takeoffs and landings). The Czech airspace has long attracted air carriers with its high level of security, sufficient capacity and customer-friendly pricing policy. The Company’s service prices have not grown since 2009.

The main source of income of the Company in 2016 was the provision of air navigation services. These revenues made up 92.1% of the total revenue of the Company. The most significant share of the revenue achieved is that of en route air navigation services - CZK 3.13 billion (78.3% of total revenues). The second most significant item was the revenue for airport and terminal navigation services, CZK 0.55 billion (13.7% of total revenues). The last item in this group were the revenues from training flights in the amount of CZK 3 million.

A significant revenue component were commercial activities of the Company in the amount of CZK 92 million, specifically the activities of the Flight School of ANS CR (operating under trade name CANI - Czech Air Navigation Institute). The demand of foreign clients for the flight calibration service has been dynamically growing — the service has been long provided to countries of the former Soviet Union and Cuba.
“The financial results of the Company reflect the increasing interest of air carriers in our services. Our primary objective is therefore to ensure that we meet the customer requirements for quality, capacity, and cost efficiency also in the future. In addition, we are intensively developing our commercial activities and we participate in the process of liberalization of the European market of air traffic services. In terms of the licensed flight crew training in our subsidiary company CATC (Czech Aviation Training Centre), a number of business steps are being implemented or prepared for our traditional customers and also for the dynamically developing Asian markets”, said Ing. Jan Klas, the CEO of ANS CR.

In accordance with the international regulations, the profit will be used primarily to further develop the air traffic services in the Czech Republic. Good financial results will serve as the basis for the further strategic development of the Company and maintaining its strong position as a technological leader in the region. At the same time, it also creates conditions for the fulfillment of the requirements of the Ministry of Transport concerning the use of the founder’s funds.
