The Ministry will support the construction of liquid nitrogen gas (LNG) filling stations from the Operational Programme Transportation (OPD) A total of CZK 100 million is allocated for construction support of alternative fuels infrastructure for this purpose from EU funds.
The section speed control system has been guarding safety in the narrowed sections on the D1 already for the third year. The first section monitored by cameras this year is the construction site between Velké Meziříčí and Lhotka. The modernised section of the motorway by Ostředek and Šternov will follow, the section between Hořice and Koberovice will be the third location and a motorway section close to Jihlava will be the fourth location. More than one percent of drivers committed an offence last year, but the crushing majority of drivers respect the speed and drive safely.
One year since his appointment as the Upper Austria governor, Thomas Stelzer came to visit the Czech Republic. During his visit, he also met the Czech transport minister Dan Ťok and discussed the traffic connection between the two countries. They exchanged information on the current state of preparations and the future connection of the South-Bohemian D3 motorway to the Upper Austrian S10.
The public procurement called "Electronic Toll System" has its winner. With the price CZK 10.75 billion, the companies CzechToll and SkyToll shall be collecting and maintaining the toll system on Czech motorways and category I roads for ten years. This was decided by the Ministry of Transport based on the recommendation of the commission which evaluated four bids. The ministry of transport Dan Ťok informed the members of the Babiš government about the winner today. Now the other bidders in the tender can raise objections. Also the Office for the Protection of Competition will be deciding about the possibility of signing the contract with the winner.
Almost 446 advertisement facilities were removed from motorways and their vicinity. The outdoor advertisement providers removed 400 of them either following a call of the Road Administration Authority or based on their own will. About 500 advertisement facilities were then removed by the staff of the individual Motorway Administration and Maintenance centres. Only around motorways 900 illegal billboards are still to be removed.
Since January, the Emission Measurement Stations are obliged to document the presence of vehicles in inspections. The same applies to Technical Inspection Stations. During the first quarter, over three million photographs were taken during 563 669 inspections. To increase convenience for drivers when searching the closest station, the ministry published an easy-to-read map of all Emission Measurement Stations, Technical Inspection Stations and Municipal Departments with Extended Powers on its website.
