The validity of roadworthiness checks is extended by 10 months from the original validity in the entire EU. The Regulation applies to checks, which expired or would have expire between 1 September 2020 and 30 June 2021. Checks, which expired between 1 February and 31 August 2020 were previously extended by 7 months. It is not possible to extend the validity of roadworthiness check that has already been extended.
Expired driving or professional competence licences and technical roadworthiness checks are extended by 10 months. The extension applies to documents that expired between 1 September 2020 and 30 June 2021. The validity of Czech certificates, technical inspections or licences is extended by 10 months in the entire European Union from the day of the original validity. The extension of validity is another step to reduce mobility of citizens as a part of protective measures adopted to fight COVID-19 pandemic. The Regulation is effective from 6 March 2021.
This July and August, the navigation traffic at Slapy will be limited. Because the State Navigation Administration expects increased traffic and wants to protect swimmers and smaller vessels, it decided to implement a so-called discharge navigation system on a half of Slapy Reservoir. The motorboats will be forced to slow down in certain parts instead of floating on the surface. Based on recommendations from the police and rescue guards, the State Navigation Administration discussed the planned change with relevant municipalities and individual associations.
The European C-Roads platform opened registration for C-ITS Roadshow, which will take place on 4 June in Brno. The international event is aimed on cooperative intelligent transport systems (C-ITS) and the main part will be online. C-ITS Roadshow is a part of the URBIS Smart City Fair 2021.
The final step of the project preparation, i.e. documentation to obtain building permit, needs to be taken to launch the construction of a new railway route Praha-Ruzyně – Praha-Václav Havel Airport. Správa železnic (the national railway infrastructure manager) intends to announce a public procurement for the documentation contractor. The documentation will also include a Building Information Modelling (BIM). The construction of the railway track should begin in three years. A part of the construction will also be a railway station Praha-Dlouhá Míle with a car park and a bus terminal.
From 19 April 2021, drivers who accidentally bought an e-vignette for a non-existing number plate can request a refund. This option applies to those, who filled out a wrong country of registration or replaced number “0” by letter “O”, as well as to foreign drivers.
