Return of Czech or international driving licence

In some situations, drivers must return their driving licence and international driving licence to a municipal authority with extended powers.

Typical examples of such situations:
  • They receive a notification of reaching 12 penalty points (endorsements);
  • They are disqualified from driving;
  • Their driving licence is under condition, suspended, limited or taken away;
  • Their driving licence is suspended based on enforcement order;
  • In case of death of driving licence holder.

In such cases, the drivers need to visit a municipal authority according to their normal residence.

Where to go?

You can visit any municipal authority with extended powers. List of those (206 in the Czech Republic) is available on the map below.
